There are many regulations and seals for leather, such as the OEKO-TEX LEATHER standard, IVN natural leather, bluesign or the Leather Working Group, which make quality assessment possible and transparent for the buyer. However, the many processing steps and stages that a hide has to go through before it becomes leather is a complicate process.

Our contribution to transparency lies in the process technology, with which each individual hide can be traced with certainty: UCP (Unique Coding Process). This makes it possible to identify the farm where the animal was born, where it lived and where it was slaughtered for each individual hide.

Marking-Option 1

LIGHTMARKER Skin Line - Drive Thru

In this process, the fresh hides are guided past the laser and the number is applied with the laser ‘on the fly’. The system can mark up to 1,000 hides per hour.

Marking-Option 2

LIGHTMARKER Skin Line - Stamp

The stamping process is particularly relevant for thicker hides, as the marking is applied in depth. In this process, the system can mark up to 400 hides per hour using laser technology.
